An artist born and raised in Berkeley, California, the daughter of two artists, one painter, one woodworker, I have been creating art as long as I can remember. After high school, I became interested in Calligraphy and Book Arts thanks to one of my rock climbing partners and reveled in the rich Book Arts community in the Bay Area. I returned to school at San Francisco State to strengthen my design and calligraphic eye, but once there fell in love with painting and printmaking, and graduated with a degree in both in 1990.
Teaching evolved out of volunteering in my children’s classes and discovering I thoroughly enjoyed sharing art with children. I now teach in two schools in Berkeley and during summer run a children’s art camp.
