Kalen Meyer Art Summer Camp is going on-line!
Due to the on-going Covid-19 virus, summer art classes will be taught via Zoom, with some how-to video links sent directly to the student.
Sessions will be 1-hour online in person, four days a week, Monday – Thursday, with projects that can continued throughout the day.
Tuition will be $100 per week plus $20 for materials.
2 sessions per day: 10:00-11:00am for ages 7-10, 1:00-2:00pm for ages 10 and up. Minimum 7 students per class to run, maximum 10 students per session.
We will be doing a variety of art: painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, some fabric art and photography. Some sessions will end up being more mixed media than a single subject focus. For the photography session, there may be some required pick up of printed photographs to make books (no animation component in these sessions).
Packets of supplies and tools for each week will need to be picked up in Berkeley. Packets will be ready at the beginning of the summer, so you will only have to make one trip if you are signing up for more than one session.
Although the idea of teaching art online seems incongruous, I have been having success (and fun!) teaching art to my regular elementary school students in the last few weeks. The missing piece has been access to supplies, which I will supply in packets so we can do the kind of high level projects we usually do during the summer sessions.
For those of you already enrolled, your deposit will serve as your enrolled fee, those of you who have paid in full will receive a refund of the remaining tuition.
For those of you who have signed up for camp and need to withdraw, I will offer a full refund (minus those pesky PayPal fees).
Details are still being worked out! Please email me with any and all questions you have!
For 18 years, we have provided Summer classes for children who love making art!
Classes emphasize fine art materials and instruction, with a changing curriculum of different art mediums. Projects are varied so students can take more than one session and be challenged with new projects. Join us for a variety of interesting projects and serious fun!
